Katherine (00:00)
Hi everyone and welcome to the Client Spotlight Podcast with MacRAE’S. I’m your host, Katherine Seymour. And today we have a very special guest, Joyce Padilla, CEO of Assett. For years, Assett has been known for delivering reliable, innovative solutions to help their clients protect unoptimized valuable assets, always with commitment to quality and efficiency and exceptional service. Today we’ll explore Assett’s journey, how the company has stayed ahead of its in a competitive industry
and how partnering with Macraes has helped with their clients’ missions and to them to support their clients. Let’s get started. Joyce, you start by introducing yourself and sharing a little bit about your role at Assett.
Joyce Padilla (00:42)
For sure, well first thank you so much Katherine for having me on your podcast. It’s a true pleasure. yeah, so Assett, it’s a marketing and brand agency and I’ve been running the agency for over 15 years now. And basically how I started, well, know, thankfully…
This is what I did from day one. And I feel super grateful and blessed to be able to do something I love. And over years working with different customers in different industries, I’ve really learned and gained a lot of appreciation for the industry. And it’s just a fun thing to do all the time. I really enjoy what we do.
Katherine (01:20)
Amazing. Thank you so much, Joyce. For those who may not be familiar, what are the services that Acid provides and what type of clients do you rely most on your expertise?
Joyce Padilla (01:31)
Yeah, for sure. So typically we offer marketing and brand services. At the moment, we’re focusing in helping out female founders who are really looking to…
Align their brand and really showcase their authority sometimes You know, they might have the authority they might have the experience and really know what they’re doing and yet because of let’s say a lack of brand strategy or not being represented Maybe as professional as they deserve They lose out on key clients or really? clients that ⁓ That are high-paying and that are worth or what or who they want to work
Katherine (01:47)
Amazing.
Yeah.
Joyce Padilla (02:12)
with. So what we do is we have an asset authority growth system. So within this system we kind of guide our customers through a process where they end up being able to have a brand that really attracts high paying customers. What it looks like it’s a 90 day process and first we just start like everyone starts with an audit where we audit their business and just see where they’re at in terms of their positioning ⁓ at the moment, any gaps that
Katherine (02:28)
Amazing.
Joyce Padilla (02:41)
we identify and really do a deep dive in analyzing what their current positioning is. And then we’ll end up with a strategic roadmap where they can take on and kind of identify quick wins that they can implement right away. From there then we go into our align your strategy phase where here we help through our brand expansion master class where they’re able to on demand
Identify and really get clarity in what their brand foundations are so they get to to kind of create the strategy up upfront where now they’re clear as to what their goals are and What they need and what they want to focus on and who are they speaking to and their messaging and their Positioning and then from there we just take them on to the next phase which is to activate your brand This is where the fun part begins because now we get to to really
know, implement their new brand and place it in different areas like their website, you know, their messaging, social media, any materials or tools, sales tools that they have, and really be able to be set for success where they can now start creating that visibility. And then lastly is the amplify your results. So here is where we kind of expand their reach and their results. This is where you see the results where they start attracting those high paying customers.
Katherine (03:54)
Yum.
Joyce Padilla (03:58)
right, through strategic alignment growth and just like having that bi-weekly strategy and support by our team. So within all this, there’s like a community where they get that support. So that’s kind of what we focus on, like really providing our customers that.
you know, from the beginning to end strategy where they can see the results. And then apart from that, we do do fractional CMO where this is kind of more of an, you know, working alongside customers and their marketing team. So those customers that, you know, are at that stage where they’re growing and they need that support, that more strategic support. So that’s where we come into.
Katherine (04:33)
Right.
That’s amazing. So you’re really, you’re not just an agency, you’re really a partner to them. So they help them grow in every step of the way, which is truly amazing. If you could sum up what acid does in one sentence, what would it be?
Joyce Padilla (04:49)
That’s a good question. I would say, what do we do? Branding. So I always say that’s a foundational piece for the initial of any marketing strategy, any SEO, any digital marketing. If you don’t have a, because again, you only get, know,
Katherine (04:54)
Yeah, yeah, I appreciate it.
Joyce Padilla (05:08)
one first impression, you know, one time, right? So it’s like, you need to make sure you look as professional as, you know, as the services you offer. And people tend to be inclined to companies that, you know, perceive themselves as trustworthy, right, and experts in the area. So sometimes that brand, if it’s not quality or professionally, visually,
Katherine (05:10)
True. True.
Joyce Padilla (05:33)
to that high standards, they won’t even probably engage with you. So you might be missing out on lot of opportunities.
Katherine (05:34)
Yeah
Absolutely, absolutely. What are our challenges or goals that led to the start of looking for a digital marketing partner like McCrease? ⁓
Joyce Padilla (05:50)
⁓ Okay, so challenges, well, you know, with the digital era coming about and all that, that was not an area that I was expert in. It was new to us and…
Katherine (06:01)
Yeah.
Joyce Padilla (06:04)
Seeing how important that online presence is, what is what made us kind of like say, hey, we need to be aligned with what the market is requiring right now, where the people are. So that’s where we said we need to partner up. Not us not being experts in the field. We prefer always to give, you know, the best of the best to our customers. then working with companies like yours is key for us in our offerings as well.
Katherine (06:17)
Bye.
Joyce Padilla (06:29)
So that’s how it kinda came about, right? I always say that if you’re not online, you might as well just close your business, right? Yeah, because if they’re the customers, if they don’t find you, they’re going to your competitor, right? So it might as well be there.
Katherine (06:34)
Yeah, for sure, no for sure.
It’s true.
It’s true for sure. There are many marketing agencies out there. What made McCrae stand out to you?
Joyce Padilla (06:52)
So it being honest, one of my clients was working with you and being introduced to your team as a fractional CMO working with them, I got to learn about McCrae’s.
But at the same time, the relationship was so great and the experience that I ended up as an agency partnering up with McCrase to be able to have you guys as my partner or supplier in SEO and in all digital marketing for my customers, for other customers. So that’s how it came about. So I’m really fortunate to have found you so easily.
Katherine (07:23)
Thank you so much for that.
Thank you so much for that. Can you share some work of the work McCrase has done for assets, it’s SEO, content development, website updates, or digital strategies?
Joyce Padilla (07:39)
Yeah, mean, working with you, and that’s why I love working with McCrase, because it’s very organized and strategic. Like your approach, it starts with the most important thing, which is the strategy. And I’ve seen that ⁓ over and over with you, and it’s like a…
System that you guys continue to follow and it works. So it’s not just about SEO It’s about you know, really understand like I remember that the level of interest and the time to learn the industry and then once you know the industry then looking at the competitors and see what they’re doing and using, know the industry benchmarks and then from there after a Analyzing certain keywords and seeing the you know, the traffic those keywords have like it was all like
very well thought through and then from creating that content plan based off of those high performing keywords you guys would go and create the content right so all the content and it was great working with with the team who creates the content because it’s a tedious job
Katherine (08:34)
Yeah.
it is
Joyce Padilla (08:44)
A
lot of work. So you made my work very easy. yeah, so from the content and then to the website development, which is great too, you guys offer a lot of flexibility, which I love. So it’s not just, you know, putting content or blogs, inserting that into the site. But if we need a new landing page for a promotional tactic, like you guys are always there to kind of support in that area, then always keeping in mind the SEO part.
it right in the back end. So it’s been great all from there to digital ads and etc. So it’s a full cycle.
Katherine (09:12)
Yeah.
How would you describe the communication or collaboration with McCrae’s?
Joyce Padilla (09:22)
it’s been really great. I have no nothing to say other than you guys are on point. Initially onboarding any customer, there’s more communication, like even weekly calls and emails back and forth, just making sure, you know, everything is is set up and they have everything they need. They understand everything and that the customer too feels, you know, the assurance of, OK, they know what they’re doing and, you know, they’re reliable. So the communication
animation has been great, like even with…
web developers and just having access to them too direct where I can just send them an email and I’m not going through, let’s say the account manager, I can directly and then get quick responses. So far it’s been really good for me as a partner because I’m able to quickly communicate anything to our customers right back. And then for customers who deal with you directly as well, the feedback has been really great so far.
Katherine (10:17)
Amazing, thank you. What are some measurable results you’ve seen since working with McCree’s, such as improved search rankings, more website traffic, or even increased the qualified leads?
Joyce Padilla (10:29)
Yeah, so I would say that one of the biggest things is definitely visibility. So increase in rankings, right? On Google, for example. That’s been really key and we’ve seen how our…
Katherine (10:39)
Yeah.
Joyce Padilla (10:43)
of keywords have increased on page let’s say one compared to competitors so we’ve kind of like took them down from their ranking so that’s been really great and at the same time the quality of leads so ⁓ I’ve worked with other agencies where you get a list of these leads but you got to filter them out and they’re really not anything related to what you know your industry is for example so there’s like a disconnect there but so far the
Katherine (11:02)
Bye.
Joyce Padilla (11:10)
The quality of leads that you guys have offered are on point and I think it’s because you guys really do a good research, like keyword analysis prior to. So that I think is key. Because even if it’s, you know, I rather have less amount of leads but that they’re quality ones than a whole bunch and not having them as quality, like, right?
Katherine (11:27)
Thank you.
For sure, for sure. What’s the big, what’s, what’s been the single biggest win for Assett as a result of partnering with McCrease?
Joyce Padilla (11:39)
So for me, the biggest win, apart from the results, for me the most, important is being able to have found a partnership that I can trust. I’m very careful with who I work with and I’m very careful with who I recommend. So being able to work with a company that is…
Katherine (11:57)
Bye.
Joyce Padilla (12:01)
expert in the area, reliable, trustworthy, very honest. I love that. So that for me is, it means a lot because I know that I’m recommending to my customers quality service.
Katherine (12:14)
Thanks for that. We’re always happy to hear that. ⁓ If there was anything you feel we could have done differently or even any suggestions that we could have made that would have made a stronger partnership, what would those be?
Joyce Padilla (12:17)
you
I can’t think of anything. To be honest, I cannot think of anything. I’m gonna have to think about that one and get back to you.
Katherine (12:31)
Yeah.
Okay, well if that’s
the case and you do think of anything in the future after even this podcast, please let us know. We’re always willing to hear ⁓ any feedback from our clients to always improve, so that would be great. What would you say to another business that’s considering partnering with MacRae’s?
Joyce Padilla (12:45)
Yes, we will do.
I would say that if they’re ready to like if they have or their business is at that level where they’re able to you know have that budget for digital marketing and you know in digital marketing there’s tons of different tactics you can do I would highly and this is what I do with my clients to recommend SEO because that
is an exposure and an organic traffic that you get. And it’s really great for brand awareness and for lead generation. It’s a really good investment. It’s a really good investment. Like I said earlier, if you’re not there when clients are searching for your services, then you’re just giving them away to your competitors. So that’s the future. Everyone is online right now and I think we know that. It’s what’s happening right now.
Katherine (13:31)
True, yeah.
Joyce Padilla (13:39)
If you’re not on Google, you’re just missing out on so much opportunity.
Katherine (13:44)
Thank you. Joyce, thank you so much for sharing Assett Story and your experiences with my queries. Truly inspiring and a forward-thinking Canadian company, and we’re really excited to have you as a client. For our listeners, thanks for tuning in and continued success. Thank you so much.
Joyce Padilla (14:01)
Thank you so much, Katherine, for having me.
In a recent conversation with Joyce Padilla, CEO of Assett, we explored how this innovative marketing and brand agency has been helping businesses protect and optimize their valuable assets for over 15 years. Joyce shared insights into Assett’s unique approach to brand transformation and how strategic partnerships have enhanced their service offerings.
Joyce has been leading Assett for more than 15 years, building the agency from the ground up. What started as a passion project has evolved into a specialized marketing and brand agency with a clear mission: helping clients establish professional, authoritative brands that attract the right opportunities.
“I feel super grateful and blessed to be able to do something I love,” Joyce shared. “Over the years working with different customers in different industries, I’ve really learned and gained a lot of appreciation for the industry.”
Today, Assett has carved out a specialized niche, focusing primarily on female founders who possess expertise and authority but may struggle with brand representation.
“They might have the authority, they might have the experience and really know what they’re doing, and yet because of a lack of brand strategy or not being represented as professionally as they deserve, they lose out on key clients,” Joyce explained.
At the heart of Assett’s offering is their proprietary 90-day Assett Authority Growth System, designed to transform brands and attract high-paying customers. The system consists of four strategic phases:
The journey begins with a comprehensive business audit, examining current positioning, identifying gaps, and analyzing opportunities. Clients receive a strategic roadmap with quick wins they can implement immediately.
Through Assett’s Brand Expansion Masterclass, clients gain clarity on brand foundations, including goals, target audiences, messaging, and positioning. This on-demand phase ensures strategic alignment before any implementation begins.
This is where strategy comes to life. The new brand identity is implemented across all touchpoints—websites, social media, sales materials, and marketing tools—creating consistent visibility and professional presence.
The final phase focuses on expanding reach and delivering measurable results. Through strategic alignment, growth tactics, and bi-weekly team support, clients begin attracting those high-paying customers they’ve been seeking.
Throughout the entire process, clients benefit from community support and ongoing guidance from the Assett team.
Beyond their signature system, Assett also offers fractional CMO services for growing companies that need strategic marketing leadership without a full-time hire. This service provides direct partnership with clients and their marketing teams, offering high-level strategic support during critical growth phases.
When asked to sum up what Assett does in one sentence, Joyce emphasized the foundational importance of branding.
“Branding is the foundational piece for any marketing strategy, any SEO, any digital marketing. You only get one first impression. You need to make sure you look as professional as the services you offer.”
She noted that people are naturally drawn to companies that present themselves as trustworthy experts. Without professional branding that meets high visual standards, businesses risk missing out on valuable opportunities before potential clients even engage.
Recognizing the critical importance of online presence, Assett made a strategic decision to partner with digital marketing experts to complement their branding services.
“With the digital era coming about, that was not an area that I was expert in,” Joyce admitted. “Seeing how important that online presence is made us say we need to be aligned with what the market is requiring right now.”
This partnership approach reflects Assett’s commitment to delivering the best possible results for clients. “I always say that if you’re not online, you might as well just close your business. If customers don’t find you, they’re going to your competitor.”
Since implementing comprehensive digital strategies, Assett has seen significant improvements for their clients, including:
Joyce emphasized that quality trumps quantity when it comes to lead generation: “I’d rather have fewer leads that are quality ones than a whole bunch that aren’t quality.”
For Joyce, the most significant benefit of strategic partnerships goes beyond metrics and results.
“The biggest win for me is being able to have found a partnership that I can trust. I’m very careful with who I work with and who I recommend. Being able to work with a company that is expert in their area, reliable, trustworthy, and very honest—that means a lot to me because I know I’m recommending quality service to my customers.”
When asked what she would tell businesses considering investment in digital marketing, Joyce had clear guidance:
“If you have the budget for digital marketing, I would highly recommend SEO. It provides organic traffic and exposure that’s really great for brand awareness and lead generation. It’s a really good investment.”
She emphasized the competitive necessity of online presence: “Everyone is online right now. If you’re not on Google, you’re just missing out on so much opportunity. If you’re not there when clients are searching for your services, you’re just giving them away to your competitors.”
Assett continues to evolve and grow, maintaining its commitment to helping female founders establish powerful, authoritative brands that attract the clients they deserve. Through their comprehensive 90-day system, fractional CMO services, and strategic partnerships, they’re positioned to continue delivering exceptional results.
For businesses struggling with brand positioning or missing opportunities due to inconsistent professional presentation, Assett’s approach offers a clear path forward—one that combines strategic thinking, professional execution, and measurable results.
As Joyce reminds us, in today’s digital-first world, your brand isn’t just what you say about yourself—it’s what appears when potential clients search for the solutions you provide. Making that first impression count has never been more important.
