Google tests Audio Overviews for Search results

Google is testing a new Audio Overviews feature in its Search Labs on mobile search results. When users enable it, a “Generate Audio Overview” button appears for select queries. Tapping it takes ~40 seconds to produce a short, AI‑generated, podcast‑style clip – hosted by dual AI voices using Gemini models, with playback controls and speed adjustment. Beneath the audio player, links to source material are provided. The feature, currently limited to English-speaking mobile users in the United States, builds on previous Audio Overviews from the NotebookLM and Gemini apps. Google invites feedback via thumbs‑up/down within Labs and may expand features in the future.
