Google AI Overviews Explain Overlay Tests Bottom Tray

Google is testing a new bottom‑tray interface for its AI Overview feature. When users select text, options such as “Explain this,” “Related images,” and “Copy text” appear within a tray at the bottom, replacing the need to navigate to a separate page. Previously tested in May, this interface aims to streamline user engagement by keeping actions contained in the same view.
