Google Search Console Sees Surge in Product Snippets Reporting, Possibly a Bug

Google Search Console has experienced a surge in product snippets reporting, raising concerns among Search Engine Optimization services providers. This spike, first noticed in mid-August 2024, mirrors a similar issue from May 2024. SEO experts report increased clicks and impressions for product snippets on pages that don’t even feature products or have Schema implemented. While this appears to be a bug, Google is investigating and is expected to provide an update soon. For now, SEO professionals should be cautious, as this reporting error does not reflect actual performance changes.
